Here is an easy heating test you can give your family in just minutes.

Be sure to include grandparents, because they are usually the ones to develop "Nerve Deafness" gradually over time and may not be aware of it.

The person to be tested must
Face the tester
Close their eyes while receiving each word

The Tester must
Step off 26 2/3 feet ( 8 METERS) from the person being tested and face that person
Talk in a normal speaking voice. DO NOT SHOUT!! (Room must be quiet)
Do not smoke, eat or cover your mouth while giving this test. Annunciate clearly.
Before each word use the phrase, "Say the word,_______", or pause.
Give twenty words to each person being tested, one at a time. If 3 or more of the following words are not repeated correctly, mark the words, then call us at 571-1207 or 721-7866 for an appointment. Mr. Glassman will perform a complimentary Hearing Evaluation if you bring this check list to your appointment with us.

This test is not meant to take the place of a reliable professional hearing test. If you suspect a hearing loss, please call us. This test is only reliable if the room is quiet. Turn off the TV, radio, kitchen appliances, etc. The living room is recommended for this test, and only the person being tested and the tester should be in the room during the test. This test is not reliable enough to give most children under age six.

"My wife appreciates my hearing aids as much as I do. She claims it has helped my disposition. I know hearing aids have helped me enjoy my family and friends."

Chris Gutschow, Fremont, NE
